Hazira framed his picture. An obituary picture.

The fragile, broken frame was tapped over,

so it would hold for years to come.

In thick black letters, the writings on the tape,

that held together the frame, read

Nicht Fallen.

I exchanged the frame for one I bought in a supermarket in a near by town. 6,5 convertible marks. I brought two of them to Hazira. So that her past could safely be guarded behind the mass produced glass.

Nicht Fallen is an ongoing project depicting landscape, individuals and communities marginalised by the war in former Yugoslavia. In its visualization, it uses various techniques, including video, image, found materials, collage, and text.
